BASIC SURGICAL SKILL PRACTICE VIDEOS
The training videos and supplementary materials below should be viewed well in advance of your upcoming RAVS trip. The videos are not all-inclusive but do provide a foundation for learning basic suturing and ligating techniques commonly used in spay/neuter surgery. Tips to aid in practicing for the student practical skills assessment are also noted within several of the videos. Repetition and extensive practice on models to master the basics of these skills is an essential requirement prior to any live animal surgical experience. The RAVS Volunteer Training Manual (below) provides additional important clinic orientation information and should be thoroughly reviewed prior to your scheduled clinic.
