ROSEBUD, SD -- WELLNESS/MEDICINE CLINIC

NOTE: This is a non-surgical clinic. This will be a high-volume mobile clinic providing wellness and sick animal care in various locations throughout the reservation.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
Volunteers of all types are encouraged to apply (veterinarians, technicians/assistants, veterinary and technician students and support volunteers). No prior field experience necessary.

ARRIVAL: You must be ready to meet your group at the time indicated. If you are flying to the area you may need to fly in the night before to avoid missing your team due to flight changes or other delays.

DEPARTURE: August 26 will be the last working day of the trip. We will return to our meeting location late the evening of the 26th. Flights may be booked out anytime August 27. You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodations prior to and after the pick-up and drop-off times.

CLINIC INFORMATION: You will be part of a team bringing quality veterinary services to the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. We will be providing 3 days of high volume wellness services; working collaboratively with local coordinators to provide preventative care for as many animals as possible. We will be working outdoors under a variety of conditions and the clinic is likely to be busy and fast-paced.

STUDENT FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT: There is no minimum fundraising commitment for this clinic.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: This clinic is not eligible for RACE approved CE credit. Clinical training and orientations will focus on provision of intensive wellness care, assessment and treatment of various infectious diseases and injuries and provision of high quality basic veterinary services with limited resources.
