NOTE: Student participants in this clinic will not be performing surgery. You will work in intake and anesthesia, with some limited opportunities to assist in surgery. This will be an excellent opportunity to gain experience in these areas and to prepare for future HSVMA-RAVS field clinics. Students are encouraged to apply for this clinic in addition to other summer trips. This trip will not count toward the 2 trip application maximum. The normal $200 veterinary student deposit is being waived for participants on this trip.
ARRIVAL:
You must be ready to meet your group at the time indicated. If you are flying in we highly recommend that you fly in the night before to avoid missing your team due to flight changes or other delays.
DEPARTURE:
March 19th will be the last working day of the trip. You may book flights out anytime March 20. Please do not book flights earlier than this. You will be free to go after once the clinic is complete on the evening of the 19th, but we are unable to predict when this will be. We expect volunteers to participate for the duration of the clinic.
You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodations prior to and after the pick-up and drop-off times.
CLINIC INFORMATION:
You will be part of a team of volunteers working in rural South Monterey County in California under the leadership of Dr. Eric Davis. We will be providing three days of small animal spay/neuter services in Bryson-Hesperia.
SUBMITTING PERSONAL TRAVEL PLANS:
Before making travel arrangements, be sure you have read the Travel Information section of the website. As soon as you have made your travel plans, you will need to submit the pertinent information via the online Travel Form. We need this information for ALL VOLUNTEERS on ALL TRIPS at least 30 days before the starting date of the trip. The sooner you can provide the information, the easier it will be for us to finalize trip logistics.
